Streetwear Clothing Style
Streetwear is a kind of clothing style found in the fashion industries of garments. Fashion trend is not stagnant and it goes under massive change. In former times people had limited choice of clothing fashion. They had particular standard of fashion to follow. We have multiple choices in garment fashion available in recent times.
What does the ‘term’ streetwear mean? It is a kind of clothing style generally inspired by its surrounding lifestyle of the street. It deals with the urban themes like graffiti and encodes the culture of such surroundings into clothing fashion. Most importantly, it gives clothing a high quality.
Streetwear style of clothing is not a new thing invented right now. Such style of clothing was there around 1980’s. It was the time when the movement of punk was in vogue and that was resulted in hip-hop trend. That is how it has some kind of similarities with hip-hop culture.
Streetwear has traveled a long trajectory to reach the present time. It was initiated by Shawn Stussy who offered his service in California as a local surfboard shaper of Laguna Beach. He sketched his own logo for surfboard design that was finally printed on t-shirts.
What is remarkable for hip-hop culture is its being self-expressive in nature. Streetwear, like hip-hop, seeks to have expression of its own concepts. Clothing designers express their feelings in terms of designs they draw for garments. So it is designers’ expression, but it becomes the expressions of those who wear them too.
In the fashion industry of garments, streetwear marks its position and continues to encourage designers of today. One of the most important thing they need to remember is to maintain quality that streetwear reflects.
Today fashion and streetwear have become two sides of the same coin. Modern culture of youth and traditional style both make the blend of these two different outlooks which is well articulated in streetwear. One can prefers either traditional suit or can put on well designed t-shirts or both.
