How To Do Hair In a French Braid
It might look complicated, but don’t let that fool you: Learning how to do hair in a French braid is easier than you’d think. The first step is to get all the tangles out of your hair by brushing it. Then you slick on some mousse or a holding gel. This will help the hair stay in place as you work with it.
Next, you’ll take a section of hair at the front where the bangs are (or would be). That’s the whole section from temple to temple (right above your ear line).
Now divide this into three sections, and start braiding. Begin by braiding the right section over the middle section. Don’t forget to hold on tight to the braid, or some of the hair will slip away from your hands.
Now, you pull the left section over the middle section. As you learn how to do hair in a French braid, you should keep a spray bottle of water nearby in case your hair starts to dry out. It’s easier to handle when it’s wet rather than dry.
The next step is to use a comb to take a strip of hair from your head, on the left side. The strip of hair you take should be about an inch or from the temple down. This gets added with the left section.
Now you should do the same for the right side. Afterwards, you will braid the right segment of hair over the middle segment. Continue on, braiding the left segment over the middle one.
Keep on braiding and adding new sections of hair until you finally reach the bottom of your head. To finish it all off, you’ll braid the loose sections of hair just like a normal braid.
You can tie the end of the hair with a ribbon or pony tail holder. Learning how to do hair in a French braid is easy if you practice. Even if you don’t get it right the first time you attempt it, it will soon be like second nature to you.
